Literateur: MY BOOKS ARE FINALLY REAL BOOKS!

Welcome to a very special episode of Craptastique.

In which I hawk my wares most diligently.

As many of you know, I have been writing so-called "books" for a couple years now. But until now, they've only been available as "electronic books" (or "ebooks," if you want to use the cool slang).

Now, everything has changed. EVERYTHING. FOREVER!

For behold, my books are now available as proper print books.
My saga of learning how to format and A-B test these things and fight Amazon tooth and nail to get them looking right is the stuff of legend. Poets will write epic heroic sagas of my trials.

I'll probably share the lessons I learned in a future blog entry so I can help you avoid my mistakes and pitfalls.

But for now- BUY MY BOOKS! Read them, love them!

Because they certainly love you.

Literateur: "Destined for an Early Grave" by Jeaniene Frost

For this very special episode of Literateur, I'm just gonna let a book speak for itself. Behold- Destined for an Early Grave!

(Though one criticism I must needs make: author Jeaniene Frost has an incredibly gratuitous number of vowels in her first name- it's like her parents were trying to use all their Scrabble tiles in one turn when they made that name.)

"When has he seen your breasts?” Gregor hissed.
"When a horde of zombies ate most of my arm and all of my bra off,” I snapped.

"A set of hatchets crisscrossed together over a coat of arms. Yeah, comfy. If you were Adolf Hitler."

“Then you remember the dream,” Mencheres stated. “That bodes ill.”
The fear of that made my reply snappy. “Hey, Walks Like An Egyptian, how about for once you drop the formal stuff and talk like you live in the twenty-first century?”
“The s**t’s gonna splatter, start buggin’, yo,” Mencheres responded instantly.
I stared at him, then burst out laughing, which was highly inappropriate considering the very grave warning he’d just conveyed.

“Did you really think I’d ceased to care? Kitten, I care so much it wrecks me.”

“The lustful glances thrown his way made me wish he wasn’t such a damned bowl of eye candy."

“The sarcastic part of me had an idea. Let Gregor spend some time with me, that’ll cure him of wanting me in his life. Trouble followed me like a bad smell.”

“Bones, you must have argued yourself blue in the face.”

“Oh. Well. A slumber party with Dracula? All things considered, why not? Okay, but I snore.”

Favorite Quotes: March 2017

"When I was younger and dumber I thought I could transform unhappy people into happy people by giving them whatever they wanted, or fixing whatever they thought was broken. This approach worked approximately zero times. Once a dopamine addict’s alleged problem is fixed, the addict still needs the next high. So they magnify small problems into big ones just to feel something. Or they create a problem where there was none."
-Scott Adams

“The soil of a man’s heart is stonier; a man grows what he can and tends it.”

“You learned to accept, or you ended up in a small room writing letters home with Crayolas.”

“Sometimes dead is better.”
-Stephen King, Pet Sematary

“If I had my way about it, I still would not have published Pet Sematary. I don’t like it. It’s a terrible book—not in terms of the writing, but it just spirals down into darkness. It seems to be saying that nothing works and nothing is worth it, and I don’t really believe that.”
-Stephen King

“Having nothing builds character!”
-Hairspray (2007)

"You know what I like about people? They stack so well."
-House of Cards

“Frozen is heaven and frozen is hell. And I am dying in this living human shell.”
-Celtic Frost, “A Dying God Coming Into Human Flesh”

“Trust God and the New Republic.”
-Warrior Soul (My misheard lyric for "Drugs, God, and the New Republic"- mine is more interesting and disturbing.)

“So how’d you beat him?”
“Time beat him. Time takes everybody out. It’s undefeated.”
-Creed

“If a hiker gets lost in the mountains, people will coordinate a search. If a train crashes, people will line up to give blood. If an earthquake levels a city, people all over the world will send emergency supplies. This is so fundamentally human that it's found in every culture without exception. Yes, there are assholes who just don't care, but they're massively outnumbered by the people who do.”
-Andy Weir, The Martian

Literateur: "Generic Mystery" by Phony McFakename

If you ever wanted to read a book called Generic Mystery...

Man, have I got some good news for you!

Buy a copy. Heck, buy 10,001 copies. One for you, and one for each of the 10,000 maniacs I keep hearing about. They sound dangerous. It would be wise to keep them occupied with reading. Goodness knows reading keeps me out of trouble.

And a quick in-joke: Happy National Proofreading Day to Devo! (Not making that up, it's real, see?)
